Islamabad: An accountability court (AC) hearing the toshakhana reference ordered confiscation of Nawaz Sharif properties.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) presented a record of Nawaz Sharif assets after collecting it on the orders of the court. The record included properties, vehicles, bank accounts.
Judge Asghar Ali, of the court announcing the verdict regarding Nawaz Sharif ordered to confiscate all the properties presented by the NAB in the case.
The assets of Nawaz Sharif being confiscated included local and foreign bank accounts in a private bank in Lahore, agricultural lands measuring more than 1650 kanals in Lahore and 102 kanals land in Shiekhupura, Nawaz Sharif bungalow in Muree, vehicles of former premier, mercedes, land cruiser and two tractors.
Before this Yousuf Raza Gilllani appeared before the court in the case while petitions for exception from appearing filed behalf of Asif Zardari, Anwar Majeed and Abdul Ghani Majeed.
During the hearing, Asif Zardari’s counsel Farooq H Nayik did cross questioning from the NAB witness, Deputy Director Election Commission of Pakistan, Imran Zafar.
The witness informed the court the Chief Election Commissioner has designated him a representative for appearing before the NAB. However, he didn’t submit the letter written by CEC to appear before the NAB. While he said that Asif Zardari didn’t sign any documents in front of him.
