Treason Case: SC Allows Musharraf To Record Statement Via ‘Skype’

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Asif Saeed Khosa on Thursday allowed former president Musharraf to record his statement via skype if he is unable to appear before the court.

A three-member bench of the SC which was headed by the CJP Asif Saeed Khosa himself heard a case pertaining to the delay in the hearings of Musharraf’s treason case.

CJP in his remarks said, “The court didn’t allowed Musharraf to travel abroad, it was the government’s decision.”

The court then summoned the attorney general to appear in the next hearing and to brief the bench that how the case can be proceeded without the appearence of the accused.

Justice Khosa in his remarks said, “Every one is equal in the eyes of law, we will not stretch any unneccessary case.”

Later on, the court sought an answer from the attorney general in the delay of the hearing of ‘Musharraf’s treason case’.

The court also asked to submit the details about Musharraf’s return.

Justice Khosa then in his remarks said, “If Musharraf in unable to return he can record his statement via skype.”

SC the ordered the registrar to submit a detailed report of the case and adjourned the hearing.
