Lahore (October 28, 2017): Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said that a particular lobby is hell-bent on constructing a narrative to provoke unconstitutional acts in the country “so that they get their jobs back”.
Talking to media after attending a conference here, Ahsan Iqbal said that there was a “troika of failed politicians, retired generals, and TV talk show hosts” which makes claims about political and economic stability in the country everyday on TV.
Responding to a question, Iqbal reiterated that there was no clash between institutions, adding that the election will be held on time in 2018.Ahsan Iqbal said peace and political stability is imperative for development of the country’s economy.
He said the government took constructive steps for establishment of peace within country in order to attain the goal of sustainable economic development.
The Minister said the world recognized institutions are now acknowledging the economic achievements of Pakistan due to prudent policies of the government.Earlier addressing International Business Conference and Exhibition at UET, he said that productivity, quality and innovation were the core conditions of competitiveness of an economy and drivers of economic growth and development.
He said that there was dire need to develop a synergy between academia and industrial sector to achieve the objectives of innovation and entrepreneurship.
The Interior Minister emphasized adapt to the changing conditions around the world.
He said that Pakistan’s economy has improved due to efforts of the government and the ongoing energy crisis is going to end soon.
