TTP splinter group Jamat-ul-Ahrar claims Wagah attack

LAHORE: The Jamaat-ul-Ahrar group of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed the Wagah border attack, said spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan, speaking to Abbtakk News on telephone.

“We will continue such attacks in the future,” Ehsan said.

He said that the targets were security personnel, who were deployed at Wagah Border. He also said that Wagah border was chosen for suicide attack as the security was not tight and secondly it has international significance.

“Some other groups have claimed responsibility of this attack, but these claims are baseless. We will soon release the video of this attack,” he said.

“This attack is revenge for the killing of innocent people in North Waziristan,” the banned militant group’s spokesman said.

The spokesman of the splinter group of the TTP  said that the attack is a reaction to military operation Zarb-i-Azb and Waziristan operation.
