Turk FM Meets PM, Congratulates On Historic Victory

Islamabad (September 14, 2018): Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad on Friday and felicitated him over his party success in election 2018.

The declaration issued after the meeting stated that the matters pertaining to mutual interests and other important issues came under discussion during the meeting.

The Turkish foreign minister who is on an official visit to Pakistan to convey to the new government greetings of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the people of the Republic of Turkey. He also congratulated the prime minister on his historic victory in recent elections.

Cavusoglu reiterated Ankara’s full support to Pakistan government’s future plans to take the country on a rapid course of economic progress, developments and creating greater opportunities for the people of Pakistan, especially its vibrant youth.

Speaking on the occasion, PM Imran Khan said that Pakistan and Turkey have the required potential to forge an even stronger partnership in future.He said that Pakistan and Turkey were bonded by common faith, mutual interest, and a shared future for the people of the two countries.

“Pakistan and Turkey always ready to assist each other and the spirit will continue in future as well,” PM vowed.

Turkish Foreign Minister Calls on COAS 

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu called on Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Rawalpindi, military media wing ISPR said.According to ISPR the discussion of Turkish foreign minister and COAS focused on Pak-Turkey relations, regional security including the evolving situation in the Middle East, management of defence and security cooperation between both the countries.

Turkish FM Meets Pakistani Counterpart 

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Turkey and Pakistan want the best solution for the Kashmir issue.

“Turkey stands by Pakistan during its tough times,” Qureshi said while addressing a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart, Mevlut Cavusoglu, at the Foreign Office.

“Turkey supported Pakistan against Financial Action Task Force (FATF)’s decision to place it on the grey list and wants the best solution for the Kashmir issue,” he added.

Further, the Pakistani foreign minister said, “The beauty of the relations between Pakistan and Turkey is that they are not restricted to a government level.”

A meeting of Pakistan and Turkey’s joint working group will be called soon, he shared.
