Turkey: 45 students awarded 10-month sentence for protesting against Erdogan

A Turkish court awarded 10-month sentence to 45 students on Ankara University for holding prtests during visit of President Erdogan.

The lawyer of the students had asked the court to release all the students because he had not committed any crime.

The protest was held while Erdogan, who was then the prime minister, visited the University in December 2012 on the occasion of launching of satellite for earth watching. Violent clashes took place between the students and police then.
