Turkish President To Address Joint Sitting Of Parliament Today

ISLAMABAD:  Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will address joint sitting of parliament on today (Friday).

Recep Tayyip Erdogan is currently in Pakistan on a two-day official visit.

“The Turkish president will address joint sitting of parliament on February 14,” said National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser sharing with the MNAs, in the middle of proceedings.

Erdogan for the second time will address the joint session of the Parliament of Pakistan.

The National Assembly speaker said that he would also hold consultations with all the parliamentary leaders of all the political parties on this matter.

The joint sitting has been summoned by President Dr Arif Alvi at 11 a.m.

President Erdogan will offer his Friday prayers at the Faisal Mosque in Islamabad and also attend the Pak-Turk Business Forum meeting.

In addition to his address before the joint sitting of Parliament today, Erdogan will also meet Prime Minister Imran Khan for discussions on bilateral, regional and global issues.

The two will co-chair the sixth meeting of the Pakistan-Turkey High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC), which steers the bilateral relationship and are also set to speak at a meeting of the Pakistan-Turkey Business and Investment Forum.

Later, there will be a signing ceremony of the memorandums of understanding and accords finalised during the meeting.

Prime Minister Imran and President Erdogan are also expected to hold a joint press conference.
