Twelve BRA Militants Surrender to Security Forces: ISPR

Quetta (August 30, 2017): Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that 12  members of the Baloch Republican Army (BRA) surrendered to security forces in Balochistan.

According to the statement, the militants relinquished their weapons and ammunition to security forces in Balochistan’s Noshki area after “an intelligence effort”, the army said.

The statement added that among the militants who surrendered were two “mid-tier” militants identified as Wali Khan, a resident of District Kohlu and Karghani, a resident of Sui.Separately eight Afghan among the  39 suspects were apprehended in intelligence-based operations (IBO) conducted jointly by the Pakistan Rangers, Punjab Police and intelligence agencies in Lahore, Faisalabad and Islamabad under the Opearation Raddul Fasaad, the ISPR statement said.

“Illegal weapons and ammunition were seized from the suburbs of Faisalabad in IB which lasted 48 hours,”  the statement added.

The army had launched Opearation Raddul Fasaad in February following a spate of terror attacks in the country, which claimed more than a hundred lives and left hundreds injured.
