Twin bomb blasts in the Afghan capital Kabul have killed 24 people and injured 91 near defence ministry, officials say.
The foreign news agency said that first bomb was detonated remotely while the second one was occurred by a suicide bomber.
Deputy defence ministry spokesman Mohammad Radmanish told foreign media that the suicide attacker struck as security forces gathered near the ministry to deal with the first blast.
“An army general and two senior police officials along with other defence ministry employees were are also included in killed,” he said.
He said civilians, police and soldiers were all killed as ministry employees were leaving work at rush hour.
President Ashraf Ghani condemning the attack said that it had been carried out by the enemies of Afghanistan and their aimed to spread fear and terror in the country.
