Lahore (July 14, 2017): Lahore police claimed to have killed two dacoits during an encounter in Defence area.
The dacoits were identified as Atique and Nasir. Police said that they became friends in jail and they had killed a citizen over resistance in robbery, a day ahead of Eidul Fitr. They were also involved in above 40 robberies and other crimes, said the police.
According to the details, the dacoits were arrested by the police few days earlier. The police party took the dacoits to Defence area of Lahore to recover weapons and cash. The police van punctured when they were returning to the police station. The dacoits snatched weapons from the police personnel and escaped when the policemen were busy in changing wheel. SHO Muhammad Ramzan said that the dacoits opened fire on police personnel and were gunned down in the retaliatory fire.
