RAWALPINDI: Accountability Court (AC) of Rawalpindi on Saturday handed over adviser of Mayor Karachi Liaquat Qaimkhani, having an accusation of making assets worth of Rs billion, to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on a two-day remand.
Deputy Director of the NAB Asghar Ali presented the accused Liaquat Qaimkani in the accountability court of Rawalpindi wherein the NAB prosecutor insisted the court to be given two-day physical remand of the accused.
The NAB prosecutor informed the court that it raided the house of the accused in Karachi on September 19 and recovered eight vehicles worth millions of rupees, 171 tolas of gold, prize bonds, modern ammunition, details of his bungalows in Karachi and Lahore.
The AC judge Pervez Ismail Joya handing the accused to NAB on two remand instructed the NAB to present the accused on September 23 in the accountability court of Islamabad while the judge issued ordered on the paper of the remand.
It is pertinent to mention here that the accused has been shifted to Islamabad from Karachi.
