Two JIT Members in Doha to Record Qatari Prince’s Statement

Islamabad (July 4, 2017): Two member of the joint investigation team (JIT) probing Sharif family’s offshore holdings reached Doha, Qatar to record the statement of Qatari Prince Qatar Hammad bin Jasim.

Sources said that two member of JIT; Naeem Mangi of National Accountability Bureau and Brigadier Kamran Rasheed of Military Intelligence departed for Doha from Islamabad in the morning today.

They added that the two member of the JIT had reached Doha, where they would record the statement of prince, whose letter Sharif family had produced in the apex court as evidence to prove the money trail.

The PML-N leaders has been urging the JIT to record the statement of Qatari prince at any cost, saying that without his statement the JIT report will be incomplete.

On Tuesday, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Asif Kirmani had said that if the JIT did not record the Qatari prince statement it would be murder of justice.

The two members did not turned up for meeting of the JIT on Tuesday to question Prime Minister’s elder son Hussain Nawaz. However, later it was revealed that the two had left the country for Doha from Islamabad in the morning to record the statement of Qatari’s prince.

The letter of Qatari prince was so important that during the hearing of the case by the special implementation bench, one of the members of the bench had remarked that the letter will go strait to dustbin if the prince did not turned up to record his statement.
