SWABI: Two kidnappers were killed and two hostages recovered in Swabi shootout, while a police personnel embraced martyrdom on Saturday night.
According to the details, Swabi police claimed to have recovered two hostages(father and son) in an operation against the kidnappers. Police said that a terrorist was killed in the encounter and another terrorist blew himself up during the operation. While the third kidnapper managed to escape from the scene. A police personnel was also injured in the encounter.
DIG Mardan said that police conducted an operation against the kidnappers in Miani, area of Swabi. He said as the police reached in the area, kidnappers opened fire on police van. A police personnel, Shah Fahad was martyred, another personnel received bullet injuries. Police cordoned off the area and launched the operation. Resultantly a terrorist was killed, a terrorist blew himself up and the third one managed to flee from the scene, he added. Personnel of special combat unit and Swabi police participated in the operation.
