LAHORE: Two motorcyclists suffered severe injuries when twine of stray kites slit their throats in Lahore.
The incidents took place in Lahore’s Factory Area and Nishtar Colony. The injured were identified as Zahid and Ahmad Ahsan.
Kite flying during the night in different parts of the city continues despite the ban.
Kite flying has been banned in Punjab for several years owing to the casualties. Any violation is punishable with imprisonment and fine, or both under the Punjab Prohibition of Kite Flying (Amendment) Act 2009.
