RIYADH: Drone attacks set ablaze two major oil facilities operated by the state-owned energy company Aramco in Saudi Arabia, state media said.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, which comes amid previous drone attacks by Yemen’s Houthi rebels.
It wasn’t clear if there were any injuries in the assault on the processing plant in Buqyaq and at the Khurais oil field.
Footage showed flames and huge palls of smoke over Abqaiq, which has the world’s largest oil processing plant.
A second drone attack also started fires in the Khurais oil field to the west. The fires are now under control at both facilities, state media said.
