DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Two separate incidents of terrorism have been reported in different parts of Dera Ismail Khan on Sunday morning which have claimed the lives of seven individuals including five police personnel.
According to DPO DI Khan, a police check post near Kotla Syedan area came under attack by terrorists at 7:45 am where two police officials embraced martyrdom.
The second incident was a suicide bomb blast which took place at the Trauma centre of DI Khan Teaching Hospital.
“When the bodies of martyred policemen were taken to hospital for post-mortem, an explosion took place at the gate of trauma centre where five people got martyred including three more police officials”, the DPO added.
He added that a total of 17 persons including security officials and civilians sustained injuries.
DPO said that the explosion was carried out by a young woman wearing a suicide jacket whose hair and few other evidence were found by authorities.
It is reported that approximately seven to eight kilograms of gunpowder were used in the blast.
Police have cordoned off the area and commenced a search operation in the terror-hit areas.
Moreover, the security of the entire city has been put on high alert.
