Pakistan has said that Nuclear Supplier Group (NSG) has to adopt purposeful and indiscriminate procedure for granting its membership adding that special exemption to any country will cause negative effects over strategic durability in South Asia.
Pakistan has speed up diplomatic contacts for getting membership of NSG. Ambassadors belonging to countries having the NSG membership were given briefing over Pakistani point of view.
Additional Foreign Secretary for United Nation and Economic Coordination Tasnim Aslam briefed the ambassadors about Pakistan’s technical experience, capabilities, nuclear security and protection.
She also stated details of Pakistan’s request to become part of NSG to the ambassadors.
Before that adviser to PM on foreign affairs contacted to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and briefed him about Pakistan point of view regarding NSG meeting.
According to foreign office spokesman Sartaj Aziz also talked to New Zealand and Korean foreign ministers on telephone and sought their support making Pakistan member of NSG and Russia, New Zealand and Korean supported Pakistan’s point of view for indiscriminate inclusion in the group.
