The United States on Friday demanded tax exemption privilege for its diplomats working in Pakistan.
According to a statement issued by the embassy of the US stated that the issue of tax exemption of US diplomats in Pakistan is still pending and the discussion is underway.
A US embassy spokesperson further added that: “The US is in talks with Pakistan over the withdrawn of Diplomatic Tax Exemption programme for staff at the Pakistan Embassy on May 15.”
It must be noted that the US State Department on May 15 had withdrawn its Diplomatic Tax Exemption programme for staff at the Pakistan Embassy.
