US Senate Committee rebuffs sanctions plan against Pakistan   

WASHINGTON: United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations rebuffed sanctions plan against Pakistan.  

US State Department Deputy Spokesman Mark Toner said that relations between Pakistan and US were not slashed. Us senator Bob Corker was of the view that Pakistan increasing its nuclear warheads due to tension with India.

According to US media, Senate Committee on Foreign Relations’ meeting held in Washington in which some of the senators tabled plan to put sanctions on Pakistan as it was increasing its atomic warheads and not taking measures against militant groups.

Senator Bob Corker rejected the plan and said that Pakistan producing nuclear warheads due to tension with India and for its defence. He stressed upon abolition of tension between the two countries. Crocker said that Pakistan is an important ally of US. United States Senate Committee decided not support India in taking membership of Nuclear Supplier Group (NSG).

While media briefing, US State Department Deputy Spokesman Mark Toner ruled out the impression that US-Pakistan relations slashed in recent days. He said Pakistan taking indiscriminate action against militant groups on Pak-Afghan border area. Toner said that US want to see stable relations between Pakistan and India.

He continued that US secretary of state visited India and Bangladesh as per schedule, it did not mean that US-Pakistan relation came at lower level. Toner said that military operation could be conducted in Afghanistan to recover US professor. He US-Pakistan strong relations essential for regional stability.
