US Urges Europe to Commit More Troops to UN Peacekeeping

NEW YORK: The United States has demanded Europe to contribute more troops in war against terrorism. US claimed that the number has fallen to fewer than 6,000, or less than 7 percent of the U.N.’s 90,000 peacekeepers.

According to International news agency, the US ambassador in United Nations said that US President Barack Obama would urge the European leaders to contribute more troops in war against terrorism in world leaders summit on September.

She further said that US President would also motivate European leaders to provide more troops in United Nation’s peacekeeping.

She claimed that more than 25,000 troops deployed in UN peacekeeping force and now it has reached at just 6,000 troops.
