United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has warmly congratulated Imran Khan on the assumption of office as Prime Minister.
In a congratulatory letter, UN chief hoped for deepening of UN-Pak cooperation in various fields, including the world body’s flagship peacekeeping operations around the globe.
Pakistan, the Secretary-General said, has been U.N.’s reliable partner, particularly in peacekeeping and via active support of United Nations activities throughout the world.
Pakistan, being one of the largest contributors of uniformed personnel to UN Peacekeeping, is currently providing nearly 6,000 military and police personnel to the UN peacekeeping operations across the world.
