Lahore (December 5, 2017): The Lahore High Court will announce its verdict over the petition filed by the Punjab government against the making public the Model town tragedy report today.
Three-member LHC full bench will announce the verdict of Punjab government intra court appeal today at 1:00pm.

The Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi had ruled to make public the Model town tragedy report public, however Punjab government has taken stay over the ruling and filed petition against the verdict in the LHC.
On November 24, the Lahore High Court (LHC) has reserved the verdict on an appeal of the Punjab government challenging the court decision of making the Model Town tragedy report public.
Three-member larger bench of the LHC reserved the judgment on an appeal against the court’s orders of making the Model Town tragedy report public.
The counsel of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Punjab government had completed arguments.
The court remarked that the decision would soon be announced on the case.
on September 21, Lahore High Court on Thursday directed to public the judicial inquiry report of Model Town incident.
According to details, the verdict reserved two days back was announced by Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi. LHC also accepted the petition filed by Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) .

Meanhwile, Punjab government has decided to file an intra-court appeal against LHC verdict. On the other hand, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has summoned high-level meeting to prepare the strategy while Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Tahir-ul-Qadri will address presser in the evening.
On September 23, the Punjab government challenged the order of a single member bench of Lahore High Court asking government to make public the report of judicial commission into Model Town.
The government filed an intra-court appeal against LHC against the single member bench decision.
The appeal states that as the matter is under review by a full-bench of the high court, the decision of the single-bench should be dismissed.
