Vote Counting Underway In 16 KP Seats of Tribal Districts

PESHAWAR: The vote counting in the 16 provincial assembly seats of Kyber Pakhtunkhwa of tribal districts are continued.

According to unofficial results, PTI’s Anwer Zaib is leading with 253 votes and Jamat-e-Islami (JI) is on second place securing 183 votes on polling station Manodheri, PK 100, Bajur 1.

Dera Ismail Khan PK 115, ANP’s Ghulam Qadir Khan is on top as he secured 700 votes while Shoaib Afridi of JUI-F is on second with 480 votes.

Independent candidate Haji Shafiq Sher Afridi is leading as he got 347 while another independent candidate Shermat Khan is following with 55 votes at a polling station of govt high zen school Tara Wali Khel Landi Kotal of PK 105.

As per the unofficial and unconfirmed result of 10 polling stations, PK-110 Orakzai-9 an independent candidate Azan Jamal is on top with 1220 votes while another independent candidate Malik Habib Noor is on second with 563 votes.

According to unofficial results of 13 polling stations of PK-115 of Tank sub-division Daruzanda, ANP Qadir Khan Betini leading with 1228 votes while JUI-F’S Muhammad Shoiab is on second with 989 votes.

The polling time for the first-ever elections for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial assembly seats in the erstwhile Federal Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) concluded on Saturday at 5 pm.

Polling began in 16 districts at 8 am. Security forces were been deployed inside and outside 554 highly sensitive polling stations. According to the provincial election commissioner, results in the tribal districts will be given on WhatsApp due to a network issue in the area.

There were a total of 1,897 polling stations set up for the election. 282 candidates were vying for the 16 general seats, including nominees for the ruling Pakistani Tehreek-e-Insaf, JUI-F, Awami National Party, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan Peoples Party and independents.
