KARACHI: Karachi Water & Sewerage Board on late Tuesday night raided a flat in Karachi where they unearthed an illegal hydrant which was being used for water theft.
According to Water Board’s spokesperson, the illegal hydrant was constructed in a flat’s compound near Karachi’s Rashid Minhas road whose lines were laid to the flat and stolen water was being ‘sold’ to others.
He added that crackdown will continue against individuals involved in water theft.
During the action, police and Water Board’s reinforcement team was present who confiscated a water tank and other tools which were used for stealing water.
For successful raid against water thieves, Managing Director of Water Board Asadullah Khan also congratulated his team.
