We Should Learn From  Malaysia’s Experience in Tourism: Shah Mahmood Qureshi

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan is the best destination for international tourists adding that we should learn from the experience of Malaysia in the field of tourism.

Addressing a Pakistan Tourism Summit Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the government is taking active measures for the promotion of tourism in the country.

Foreign Minister said that tourism increased by 300 times in few recent years adding that tourism ratio in the country economy is on rise also adding that aviation policy has made improvements for better access to Northern areas while the foreign ministry is also actively working for the promotion of tourism.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the government purpose of opening of Kartarpur Corridor is to initiate religious tourism in the country and to provide Sikh community access to their religious centers while the government is also facilitating to Buddhist and people of other religions to give access to their religious sites.

He said that a task force on tourism is also working under the chair of Prime Minister adding that we should learn from Malaysia’s experience in the field of tourism.

Qureshi said that the security situation is normal and much stable in the country adding that Pakistan visa policy has made very easy and visa fees diminished.

He said that electronic visa facility is going to start for as many as 175 countries and on arrival visa facility is provided to most of the countries.
