WASHINGTON: The White House in Washington was reportedly put on lockdown Wednesday afternoon in response to a suspicious backpack.
According to details, a man dropped a backpack and tried to jump a bike rack along the pavement on Pennsylvania Avenue.
The bike racks are located near the fences along the perimeter of the building.
He was immediately taken into custody by the US Secret Service uniformed division officers.
The Secret Service later announced that the package had been cleared with assistance from D.C. Police Department.
US President Donald Trump was not in the White House at the time.
