Widespread rain, snow fall wreak havoc in country’s upper parts

MUZAFFARABAD: Widespread rain and snowfall continued to wreak havoc in upper parts of the country on Thursday.

Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) said that a shallow westerly wave was affecting Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and adjoining areas.

According to the details, rain and snowfall is continued in different areas of Muzaffarabad. Snowfall wreak havoc in Skardu. Gilgit district management launched drive to clear roads after heavy snow fall. While load shedding increased the miseries of the people.

PMD recorded 8 inches snow fall in Astore, two inches in Skardu, four inches in Kalam, three inches in Mirkhani and one inch in Drosh.

Minimum temperature of Skardu was  -10 °C on Wednesday, while Parachinar -08°C, Astore -07°C, Kalat, Gupis, Chitral -06°C, Kalam, Drosh, Malamjabba -04°C, Bagrote, Dir -03°C and Zhob -02°C. Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country today.
