LONDON: Pakistan High Commissioner in Britain Nafees Zakariya on Tuesday presented his diplomatic documents to Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace.
As per details, High Commissioner along with his wife arrived at the palace on an invitation by the Queen and presented her gifts on behalf of the people of Pakistan.
Talking to media after meeting with the Queen at the reception ceremony in his honour at the Pakistani High Commission he said that her highness still has memories of the British rule in the sub-continent. He also insisted to improve the relationship between the two countries at the ceremony.
Zakariya said that the Pakistanis living in the UK can play their part in improving the country’s economy.
Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps Cole Ales Harris on this occasion said that this day holds an important place in the history of the relations between the countries.
Other notable people also attended the ceremony and lauded the professional abilities of Nafees Zakariya as a diplomat.
On the other hand, diplomats and community leaders of several countries also attended the reception ceremony.
