Positive Change Can Only Come Through Vote: Saad

Lahore (August 16, 2017): The Railways minister and senior leader of PML-N Saad Rafique reiterated his stance not to accept supreme court decision and said that PML-N will only accept people’s decision as Pakistan came into being through vote and its future closely linked with democracy.

Saad Rafique said on Wednesday that positive change in Pakistan will only come through vote, not through other means.

Speaking at an event, Rafique said the people of Pakistan will not accept change brought from through any undemocratic process, further adding that the country’s future is linked with democracy.

“Pakistan was formed after a long democratic process. Vote must be respected by accepting the authority of elected representatives,” said Rafique and added that the government is not fighting against any institution as it wants to avoid chaos in the country.

“We will not make Pakistan the next Egypt, Syria, Yemen or Afghanistan,” he said.

“We as a country have not yet defeated poverty, terrorism and hunger.”

The federal minister further added that there remains no space for a technocrat government, and the days of marshal laws are over in the country.

“Pakistan will be in reverse gear if the people’s mandate is not accepted.”

“If someone thinks that a politician can be disqualified over executive orders. It is not right,” Rafique said further.Separately, Rafique said that Pakistan Railways profit has crossed Rs 400 million.

“Railways is being managed without any single penny of foreign funding, massive improvement is going on in the department,” he said.

Rafique claimed that the turnover profit of railways would be between Rs 50 to Rs 53 billion.

Saad Rafique further said that country was moving on right track but Nawaz Sharif disqualification hampered the speedy development.“The decision of ‘elite class’ can’t be imposed further as people’s decision will have to be accepted by elites as well,” Saad warned that Nation should not allow anyone to turn Pakistan  in chaos.

He continued, “A political power can’t be compared with executive boards as everyone should accept Pakistan’s general public decision.”

Commenting over taking over railway ministry again he said, “I was not want to become part of new cabinet, however some close aides compelled me to take post of railway again.”
