World Cup Scare: Saudi Arabia Team Plane Catches Fire

Rostov(June 19, 2018): Flames were seen coming from the engine as the Green Falcons Flew to Rostov for the world cup game.

Saudi Arabia’s Official Team Plane caught fire in mid-air when they were travelling for their World Cup Match.

The Green Falcons were en route to Rostov for their second Group A match against Uruguay on Wednesday when the deeply concerning blaze occurred.

Flames could be seen from the engine of the Russian Airlines Airbus as they were in-flight from Moscow.Videos uploaded to social media show flames shooting from underneath the wings which can clearly be seen from the on-board windows.An official statement was issued that the Saudi Football Federation wishes to reassure everyone about the safety of all members of the mission of the national team after a minor technical malfunction in an engine.However, plane was landed later at Rostov airport and no one was hurt in the incident. The players were then seen exiting the plane unfazed and then headed to the team hotel in south of the country.
