ISLAMABAD: World Poetry day is being celebrated in Pakistan and across the world today (Thursday).
The world poetry day is being celebrated since 1992.
Poetry is an art or literary work in which the expression of feelings, emotions and ideas is given intensity by the use of distinctive style and rhythm; poems collectively or as a genre of literature.
Pakistan’s soil has produced many great poets in several regional and international languages.
Some of the finest local poets are; Allama Iqbal, Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Habib Jalib, Baba Bhullay Shah, Waris Shah, Sheikh Ayaz, Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, Ahmed Faraz, Sahir Ludhianvi, Jhon Elia and Khushal Khan Khattak.
