World Social Justice Day Being Observed Today

WEB DESK: International day of social justice is being observed all across the globe including Pakistan. Social justice is defined as including the issues of poverty, unemployment and unfair exclusion that result in social harm.

It comes on the 20th of February. Social Justice is a day in which an individual person take their attention toward society. This day highlights the importance of removing barriers people face because of gender, age, race, ethnicity, religion, culture or disability.

The United Nations General Assembly decided to observe 20 February annually, approved on 26 November 2007 and starting in 2009, as World Day Of Justice.

It is a concept of a fair relationship between a person and society. For the development of any country, the people should fulfill their societal roles.

Social justice assigns rights and duties to the institution present in the societies, which enable people to receive the benefits and burdens of cooperation.

The basic social injustices that are meant to be dealt on a priority basis in any society are discrimination, ageism, and homophobia. Social injustice issues would be things like unfair labour practices, unequal educational opportunities, racial discrimination, discrimination due to gender, orientation, ethnicity, age, and delayed justice.
