Lahore (August 2, 2017): The strike of Young Doctors Association (YDA) entered second day as patients are suffering due to closure of emergency wards and OPDs at different government hospitals in the province.
The YDA has called the strike after an official committee comprising three senior teachers rejected their demands to increase salaries and address their other grievances.
The Health Department has called back seniors doctors on leave to treat the patients in hospitals.
Yesterday, a 50-year old patient died at Service Hospital due to the closure of emergency owing to YDA strike.
The young doctors are demanding to end induction policy, besides sacking of Secretary Health Punjab.
