LAHORE:The victory of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani’s has been challenged in Election Commission of Pakistan.
Advocate Azhar Siddique has moved to ECP.The claimant questioned that why latest technology was not used in the elections despite the Supreme Court’s orders, and termed it as a contempt of court.
He demanded inquiry into the matter and pryaed to the ECP not to issue notification of the sucess of the Yousuf Raza Gillani.
The Petition also demanded to carry out investigation of horse trading in the Senate Elections and taking action against people involved in it.
It is pertinent to mention here that the senate election which was held on March 3 the joint candidate of PDM Yousuf Raza Gillani had gotten 169 votes while the government candidate Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh took 165 votes on a general seat from Islamabad.
