Ghotki (May 25,052017): Abb Takk’s efforts for justice has borne fruit once again as the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed to probe the death of a youth from police torture recorded the statements of the family of the victim.
Abb Takk telecast the news of the death of the youth from police torture three days ago. The Abb Takk’s news made Inspector General Sindh A D Khawaja to take notice of the incident and he had formed an Enquiry committee to probe the death.

The enquiry team arrived in Ghotki today and recorded the statements of the family of the victim
The enquiry committee is lead by DSP Counter Terrorism Department (CTD). Three policemen including the SHO, Head Constable, and ASI Nawaz Shar have been arrested.
According to the information acquired by Abb Takk Nawaz Shar is also the incharge of torture cell and the squad of the SP. He is better known in the department as ‘Jallad’ (executioner).
It may be mentioned here that three days ago an influential landlord of Dharki area Afzal Mehr had called jirga (tribal gathering of chiefs) over mobile cell theft by a por youth. the illegal Jirga favoring the influential landlord imposed Rs 4 million fine on the poor youth trying to manage affairs by running a small mobile phone shop. When the poor man failed to pay the hefty fine police was called and on the order of the Jirga took the youth into its custody and made him a butt of inhumane torture and later dumped him outside his house in precarious condition. the youth later died.
The family of the victim as well as the local residents strongly protested against youth’s murder and blocked the entire city. The family of the victim demanded IG Sindh for investigating the incident while Abb Takk conveyed the bereaved family’s voice to high authorities. IG Sindh ordered registering cases against the policemen involved and suspension of SHO Dharki. Later an enquiry committee was formed and that initiated its probe today.
The SHO, Head Constable, and the incharge of SSP squad have been arrested.
