Zalmay Khalilzad Calls On PM Imran

NEW YORK: The USA’s special representative on Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad leading a delegation called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in New York.

Joint efforts of Pakistan and the USA for peace in Afghanistan came under discussion at the occasion while the premier said that Pakistan has always been an opinion there is no military solution for the Afghan dispute.

condemning the recent violence in Afghanistan the PM said that for the achievement of the PTI led government aim of a peaceful neighborhood, economic development, regional stability peace in Afghanistan is indispensable.

Zalmay Khalilzad at the occasion lauded the PM support to Afghan peace and reconciliation process adding that the USA wanted to continue work with Pakistan for peace and stability of Afghanistan.

US Senator Lindsey Graham had also called on the PM Imran in New York, at the occasion Prime Minister Imran Khan had said a human tragedy is being witnessed in Occupied Kashmir due to Indian lockdown in the valley.

Talking to US Senator Lindsey Graham in New York, he said Indian steps are a clear threat to regional peace and stability.

The Prime Minister said the United States can play a positive role in resolving the lingering Kashmir dispute.

He also appreciated the role played by Graham in promoting Pak-US relations.

Commenting on the Afghan issue, the Prime Minister said Pakistan wants peace in Afghanistan and hoped that Afghan Peace Process will restart soon.

Senator Graham said Pak-US partnership is in favour of both countries. He said Pakistan has a significance regarding reconciliation and peace process in Afghanistan.

Secretary-General of Amnesty International Kumi Naidoo called on the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan to discuss the situation in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK).

The Prime Minister apprised him of the deteriorating human rights situation in Occupied Kashmir.

Prime Minister Imran Khan also held meetings with US lawmakers, diplomats, to highlight the humanitarian crisis in Indian Occupied Kashmir arising out of India’s August 5 unilateral and illegal step.

Imran Khan, who is in New York to lead the Pakistan delegation in the 74th session of UN General Assembly, will address the world body on Friday, September 27.

He will share Pakistan’s perspective and position on Jammu and Kashmir dispute, and its current human rights and its related dimensions.
