Karachi (March 23, 2018): Peshawar Zalmi players reached Karachi on Thursday night for the final of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2018.
The team beat Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings in a nail-biting thriller knockout game on March 20 to qualify for the finals.The squad, comprising of both local and foreign players led by Darren Sammy, departed from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport for Karachi.
Zalmi skipper Darren Sammy requested the people of Karachi to express their support to his team by wearing yellow shirts.“My message, I want to see this colour in the stadium,” Sammy said while pointing towards Yellow colour, he added.
He said that Zalmi holds strong believe in themselves and play as a team. “I am here to defend my title.” Meanwhile, team owner Javed Afridi called the PSL journey for the Zalmi as ‘amazing’.
“Darren’s leadership is very important for us, the team has won hearts of Pakistanis. I don’t have words on how Lahore supported us and all credit goes to Sammy for it,” Afridi said.
