Zardari in Action; Meets Fazal to Draft Joint Strategy

Islamabad (October 22, 2018): Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Monday said that PPP always tried to halt undemocratic forces but ‘democratic forces’ are becoming weaker in the country.

He made these views while meeting with Jamiat Ulema Islam Fazal (JUI-F) here in federal capital Islamabad.

Zardari added that PPP has been working for democracy for the past ten years.

The former president warned that he does not see country running [in future].

Both the leaders agreed to design a unanimous strategy against government policies.

On the occasion, JUI-F head recommended that Asif Zardari should have to meet former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to make the opposition strong,

Talking on the occasion, Maulana Fazal said that he has met with Raja Zafarul Haq and he has the view that the opposition should create unity among its ranks to give tough time to the government.

“Entire opposition will draft common course of action as all the opposition have the same stance that the government mandated was fake.He said the aim of the opposition is not to derail the government, but to ensure that it follows democratic norms.

Asked by a reporter whether he himself will contact the PML-N leadership regarding uniting against the government’s “incompetence”, Zardari suggested the communication will be done through the JUI-F chief.

“We will communicate with Maulana sahib,” he said with a smile.

On October 21, yesterday, Asif Ali Zardari urged opposition to table a unanimous resolution against the ‘unfit’ govt.

He was addressing a presser here in federal capital Islamabad.

Terming Prime Minister Imran Khan as ‘selected’, the former president asserted that neither incumbent govt can work nor it can run country smoothly.

Zardari also lambasted National Accountability Bureau while stating that the premier anti-graft watchdog is summoning servants of those accused of corruption. Zardari stated that he was raising questions on NAB’s chairman way of thinking and manner of work.
