Zardari, Nawaz;s Political Career Has Ended: Fawad

Islamabad (December 11, 2018): Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday criticized opposition saying that former president Asif Ali Zardari and ex Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s political career has ended.

Talking to media outside the Parliament House in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said that Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari got power without any struggle.

Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari, have “contested their last elections”.

“Not a single brick of Jati Umra was bought with personal income of Sharif family, Information Minister added.

He said that similarly Asif Ali Zardari has made huge properties through mega corruption and money laundering.

The Minister said that Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari have no more political career and suspense as they have played their last innings and fought their last elections in 2018.

He said that they are now only striving for digesting their looted money but they would never succeed in their designs in face of across the board accountability in the country.

He also focused on the economic crisis of the country and mentioned that governance and economy are real challenges, not opposition.Fawad Chaudhry told that all ministries have reduced their expenses and it will be beneficial for national treasure.

He asserted that Prime Minister Imran Khan is working on the ideology of Madina. PM Khan wants to make Pakistan a state as that of Madina and the sincere efforts of PM cannot be doubted, he said.

Information Minister said that the performance of twenty six ministries has been reviewed in the first phase while the process will continue to ensure good governance as per PTI’s manifesto.

The Minister said that each Minister was asked three questions as to what measures have so far been taken by his ministry to cut expenditures and save resources, what targets have so far been achieved and what next plans are in pipeline?

He said that all the ministries gave comprehensive written briefings to the Prime Minister and showed good results in cost cutting, directly benefitting the national exchequer.Fawad Chaudhary said that the Prime Minister took this unprecedented initiative even in an atmosphere where his government is facing no political challenges. He said we do face economic challenges but we will overcome these hurdles with good governance and sincere efforts to provide all possible relief to the common man.

To a question, the Minister said that it is Prime Minister’s prerogative to change the port-folio of any Minister at any time keeping in view his performance.

He said that the Prime Minister has assigned fresh tasks to all the cabinet Ministers for the next hundred days with a clear cut direction to do hard work to meet prevailing extraordinary challenges inherited by the PTI government.

The Information Minister said that Imran Khan has come to power after twenty two years of marvelous political struggle and he has a clear vision to steer the country out of all challenges by following the model of a truly welfare Islamic state like state of Madina Munawara. He said the government is working on a plan to re-build our national economy by boosting exports and reducing imports.The Minister said that a new tax culture is also being introduced to broaden the tax base bringing more tax payers to the tax net. He said unfortunately at present only seventy thousand tax payers are filing their tax returns by showing two-lac rupees of income per month whereas majority of others who are living a lavish life are evading taxes.

He said that our country is importing two to two and half billion dollars of costly cell phones besides cosmetics and other luxury items loosing precious foreign exchange in return.

The Minister said that the rich people should change their life style making a much needed space for the poor people of the country who are even unable to meet their both ends.

Fawad Chaudhary said that Nawaz Sharif spent over four-lac twenty seven thousand dollars on his medical treatment in London while the PIA flight that took him to London and came back empty cost, forty million rupees to the national exchequer.
