LAHORE: In the fourth match of the Champions Trophy, England has set Australia a target of 352 runs. The match is being played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. Australia’s captain, Steve Smith, won the toss and invited England to bat.
England’s opening pair of Ben Duckett and Phil Salt started the innings, but in the second over, a spectacular catch by Alex Carey dismissed Phil Salt. In the sixth over, Jamie Smith was also caught out after scoring 15 runs.
After two wickets fell for 43 runs, Ben Duckett and Joe Root played responsibly and advanced their team’s score. Duckett played a magnificent innings of 165 runs, which included 3 sixes and 17 fours. Joe Root was dismissed for 68 runs.
England’s captain, Jos Buttler, scored 23, Jofra Archer 21, Liam Livingstone 14, Jamie Smith 15, Phil Salt 10, Brydon Carse 8, and Harry Brook 3 runs.
For Australia, Ben Dwarshuis took 3 wickets, Adam Zampa, Marnus Labuschagne took two each, and Glenn Maxwell took one wicket.
