ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of the Philippines Daniel Ramos Espirito has called on Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed. Issues of mutual interest, including Pakistan-Philippines bilateral relations, were discussed during the meeting.
The two leaders discussed the evacuation of more than 100 Filipinos stranded in Afghanistan.
The Philippine ambassador said he wished the Philippine cities could be evacuated from Afghanistan as soon as possible. In response, the Home Minister assured the Ambassador that he would extend all possible assistance to Filipino citizens in reaching Pakistan.
Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said that in view of the changing situation in Afghanistan, they are fulfilling their humanitarian and diplomatic responsibilities.
