QUETTA: An anti-polio campaign has been launched across the province including Quetta, during the campaign, the goal of immunizing 620.000 children under the age of five has been set.
A seven-day anti-polio campaign was inaugurated across Balochistan including Quetta. The target of giving polio drops to children has been set, for this purpose more than 11 thousand teams have been formed which will go door to door and carry out the duties of giving polio drops to children, Secretary Health Abdullah Khan determined to make Baluchistan polio free Province.
In the year 2022 and 2023, no case of polio was reported in Baluchistan, but two and a half years later, during the year 2023, the presence of the polio virus has been confirmed again in the environment of five districts of the province, strict security arrangements have been made to protect the anti-polio teams during the special campaign.
