WEB DESK: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan highlighted the strong brotherly relations between Turkey and Pakistan, praising Pakistan’s cautious approach of prioritizing dialogue and reconciliation to resolve disputes.
Responding to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s remarks, Erdogan emphasized Turkey’s appreciation for Pakistan’s prudent policies and reiterated Ankara’s commitment to Pakistan’s peace, stability, and prosperity.
In a statement on X, Erdogan wrote, “We highly appreciate the prudent, patient policy of the Pakistani state that prioritizes dialogue and reconciliation in resolving disputes.” He also underscored the importance Turkey places on Pakistan’s well-being, stating, “Ankara places great importance on Pakistan’s peace, stability, and prosperity.”
The Turkish leader described the relationship with Pakistan as a “brotherhood,” calling it “a rare blessing for only a few nations in the world,” and characterized it as “one of the most beautiful examples of true friendship.” He extended “heartfelt greetings” to the Pakistani people and reaffirmed Turkey’s solidarity with Pakistan “in both good times and bad.”
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his own remarks, expressed gratitude for Erdogan’s consistent support and praised the longstanding ties between the two nations. “Pakistan is proud of its long-standing, time-tested, and resilient fraternal relations with Turkey that have grown stronger amid challenges,” he stated. The Prime Minister also acknowledged Erdogan’s efforts to promote peace in South Asia, especially regarding recent regional developments.
