LAHORE: Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani has said that accountability process has started in institutions, which is a good measure, while there is no sacred cow in the country, everyone should be held accountable.
Talking to media at the residence of Former Senator Chaudhary Zafar Iqbal’s residence, Raza Rabbani said that Senate had sent recommendations in 2015 to make an empowered institution of accountability. There is no development by the government in this connection. Chairman Senate said that there is a need to make a single autonomous institution for accountability. He said that Parliament recommendations must be implemented to end corruption.
Raza Rabbani said that unluckily no one is ready for accountability in the country. He said that there is an immense need to strengthen democracy and democratic institutions, adding that the results will be dangerous if any institution attempted to deviate from the Constitution.
