Ex-PM Nawaz Likely to Return Pakistan on Friday: Sources

Islamabad (September 7, 2017): Ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif likely to arrive in Pakistan on Friday, said sources.

The sources said that Nawaz Sharif will return homeland by flight PK-758 and his flight will land in Islamabad instead of Lahore. Flight PK-758 usually fly between Lahore and Heathrow Airport. While on September 8, the flight PK-758 will land at Islamabad airport instead of Lahore and the change in landing venue had been mention in on Heathrow Airport’s website.

It is pertinent to mention here that the ousted PM had left for London on August 31 to see his ailing wife Begum Kulsoom Nawaz. She was reportedly diagnosed with throat cancer and had left for London on August 17.

Earlier, The former prime minister had reached London with his wife ahead of her treatment’s start. Nawaz Sharif was received by a large crowd of supporters.

Kulsoom Nawaz underwent medical check-ups in London, after which doctors diagnosed her with throat cancer. Maryam Nawaz — her daughter — later confirmed on Twitter the news that her mother was diagnosed with lymphoma, the cancer of the lymph nodes.

Kulsoom Nawaz left for London ahead of the scrutiny of her nomination papers for the upcoming NA-120 by-elections. The seat fell vacant after the Supreme Court on July 28 disqualified Sharif in the Panama case over charges of concealing his salary from a Dubai-based company that he claims he never received.
