Karachi: Bio-metric verification has been made mandatory for registration and transfers of vehicles by the excise and taxation department.
The Sindh Minister for Information, Transport, Excise and Taxation Sharjeel Inam Memon said in a statement in Karachi today that with this step the vehicle registration process in the province will become more transparent.
The minister said that all new and old vehicles registration and transfer bio-metric confirmation will be mandatory.
The policy will be implemented in a three phases, he said.
He apprised that from October first the bio-metric verification will be mandatory. While from November 1 bio-metric verification will be conducted.
