MAHARASHTRA: An explosion occurred in a mosque in a village of Beed, a city in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

According to Indian media, the explosion, which took place at around 3 a.m. last night, caused no casualties, but it damaged the mosque’s floor and walls.

During the investigation, the police arrested two suspects involved in the explosion with the help of a video circulating on social media. According to the police, the explosion was carried out using gelatin sticks, which are typically used in mining and construction.

According to the FIR (First Information Report), a procession was held in the village, which was attended by people from various communities. Around 9:30 p.m., two individuals arrived at the scene and began questioning the mosque’s construction, while also attempting to provoke communal tension. However, the situation was brought under control.

Later, in the early hours of Sunday, the police learned that the two suspects had placed gelatin sticks inside the mosque. The police received a call from the village head (Sarpanch) informing them about the explosion. Upon arriving at the scene, the police controlled the situation, recorded the statements of the people, filed a case, and arrested both suspects.

According to Indian media, the situation in the area is tense following the explosion, and a heavy police force has been deployed.
