Explosion reported on railway line near Jacobabad. Shikarpur  

SHIKARPUR: Authorities confirmed that a minor explosion took place on the railway track situated between Jacobabad and Shikarpur, close to the Humayun area. The incident was reported on Tuesday.

The SSP of Shikarpur stated that an investigation is underway to determine the details of the incident. He reassured residents that the railway line remains secure and that train services are continuing without interruption.Emergency teams, including police and the Bomb Disposal Squad, responded promptly to the scene to evaluate the situation. Early assessments suggest that the blast was of low intensity and did not inflict significant damage. For heightened security, authorities have increased surveillance measures in the region. The ongoing inquiry is examining all potential motives behind the explosion.

Sindh Chief Minister responds to Railway Track blast  

Sindh’s Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, has taken notice of the recent attack on the railway line in Shikarpur, condemning such acts of terrorism as completely unacceptable. He directed law enforcement agencies to swiftly apprehend those responsible and emphasized the need for comprehensive measures to safeguard the public. Shah underscored the sacrifices made to uphold peace and stability in the province and ordered officials to prepare a detailed report on the incident, stressing the importance of rapid and thorough investigation.

Previous Incident in Balochistan  

Earlier, in Balochistan’s Nasirabad district, a Pakistan Railways worker was killed in a bomb blast near a railway crossing. The explosion took place near the Pat Feeder Canal bridge shortly after the Jaffar Express’s pilot engine had crossed the area. Fortunately, the train and engine narrowly escaped damage, avoiding a major tragedy. The blast damaged the railway track and resulted in the death of Imdad Hussain Khokhar, who was on duty at the time. CCTV footage reportedly shows him inspecting what appeared to be a suspicious object on the track moments before the explosion.

Following the incident, the Jaffar Express was halted at Dera Allah Yar station, and other trains were temporarily suspended at nearby stations as a precautionary measure. Police investigations are ongoing to identify the miscreants involved.
