Islamabad: The extraordinary meeting of Senate and the National Assembly will be held today for approval of constitutional amendments.
The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) and other allied parties of the government have asked their members to ensure their presence in today’s session.
For approval of constitutional amendments government needed two third majority seperately in Senate and National Assembly (NA).
Routine agenda for both the sessions has been issued. There is no constitutional amendment and legislation on the agenda.
Parliamentary sources said that the government will present constitutional amendment in by-agenda .
It is likely that government and its allied parties parliamentary meeting will be held.
The government has backdoor contacts with Jamiat Ulma-e-Islama (JUI-F) and independent candidates.
The NA session will be held at 3 pm while senate will meet at 4 pm.
