Karachi: An identification parade of arrested accused in the murder of senior journalist Athar Mateen conducted in front of a judicial magistrate while three eye witnesses in the case identified the accused.
The police have presented the accused in the identification parade along with 10 dummy accused.
All three eye witnesses of the case identify the accused among the dummy accused.
The petition of police for statement of the eyewitnesses in front of the magistrate disposed of by the court.
The court declared the petition for statement under 164 ineffective after conducting identification parade.
According to investigation Officer (IO), the accused Ashraf is involved in the killing of senior journalist Athar Mateen while accomplice of the accused Anwar has been killed in Qambar Shahdat Kot in an alleged police encounter.
The accused has confessed hundreds of crimes during the interrogation, the IO added.
